Serendipity
Since our grandson Nicholas is an avid basketball player, his father took him to the basketball courts at Parco di Villa Revoltella, a lovely park on the outskirts of Trieste, Italy and overlooking the sparkling Adriatic ocean. It was where Baron Pasqual Revoltella built his villa in the 19th century, but now belongs to the community of Trieste. While Nicholas played basketball with his father, I strolled around the park grounds and was enchanted by the statue of Pinnochio, the walkway shaded with wisteria and the serendipitous discovery of a small rose garden.
