It had been three years since our children and grandchildren were together during the Christmas holiday. Yesterday my husband Bruce and I reluctantly waved goodbye to my daughter Tasia and grandchildren Nicholas and Emiko as they boarded their plane to return to their home in Paris, France. With a heavy heart we came home to a seemingly empty house, but when I retrieved all the holiday photos, our mood lifted as we reminisced about the fun times. Also, our middle grandson, Samokai, son Eric and daughter-in-law Stephanie live close by for frequent family visits. The favorite times were spent doing simple things with them such as harvesting the homegrown winter tomatoes and pomegranates, making ruby slippers candy and just enjoying the company of family around our Christmas tree. No matter the season or the holiday, it is all about family and of course, the garden. We hope your holidays were joyous as well.
