World's Tallest Cactus!

The Baja Saguaro, Pachycereus pringlei, native to Mexico, and Baja, California, is one of the magnificent desert giants. Known in Mexico as "Cardon", this branching columnar cactus is similar to the Saguaro of Arizona. Forms massive columns to over 30' in height, with bases up to 3' in diameter. Often lives more than 100 years. It has waxy gray green columns with ribs, white areoles and stout grayish spines as juveniles, but columns are nearly spineless with age. the nocturnal white flowers are pollinated by bats.

Excellent as patio plant or landscape plant. Requires porous cactus soil with adequate drainage. Bright light to full sun. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.
